Where’s the Marlboro Man when we need him most?

October 14, 2008

“From my observation, when cigerettes were banned from television, it was replaced by reckless sex and homosexuality. Then, along came more divorces, and diseases. I think our society was way better off when homosexuality and unsafe sex was not pushed upon us.

Do you get the feeling that this person isn’t totally clear on the difference between television and reality? That maybe s/he grasped just enough of The X-Files to hold a little funeral for The Smoking Man when he got shot, since he and his “cigerettes” were apparently among our last defenses against iniquity and chicken pox?
